Divine symmetry
Mother Nature. How very un-obliging she can be when she really puts that extra effort in to be contrary. And geez has she been putting the effort in for the last few weeks over the "summer" solstice period.
Oh dear. Am I whingeing about the weather again?

Well, I'm still in London, struggling to acquire a sequence of specific images in specific weather at specific times for a specific publication... So... To try and be a bit positive during the last three weeks - as I made my way on 3AM night buses, under dismal skies, through cold winds and June drizzle, across the capital - I sought out alternative locations to my usual shooting environment (and the one for this assignment) - the surface of the earth - by going underground and taking my photography... Down the tubes...
Despite all my careful planning and portfolio preparation being daily trashed wholesale by meteorological circumstances outside of my control, it was surprising and immensely gratifying when things worked out very nicely indeed with a Plan B situation.

A sequence is developing well and a few examples are offered here. All processed with Nik Silver Efex Pro II and all looking quite swanky and geometrically graphic.

In the final analysis, the above shots all benefited from monochrome conversion. Same thing happened with many of my images the last time I was shooting in London. The graphic nature of this type of symmetrical shot just seems to suit the simplicity of black & white. Every now and again though, only colour will do and - as a total colour monkey myself - that comes as a great relief. Here are two favorites, shot today:-
