The 11th UK Landscape Photographer of the Year
An interesting trip down memory lane for me - and perhaps you - provided by this gallery of images going back to 2008/9 that includes some early and rather clumsy attempts at ICM. With the increasing interlude since their creation, it's not so much the compositions that seem alien to me, as many, I feel, given the circumstances, the gear and the conditions, I would likely frame up in much the same way, but it's the sense of dark uncertainty in the mood of the images that emerges as the underlying, almost collective, feeling. The locations have a bearing on this of course, but it's the exposures and processing that enhance the sense of foreboding... And lots of them have names! How cute is that? Even if the titles themselves are a trifle dark, scary or lonely on occasions...
