Clearing Rainstorm at Selsey Bill

17.40, 4th March 2016

Nikon D810, 14-24mm f2.8 at 14mm, 1/100 second, f13, ISO 64, tripod

This was one of those vibrant windswept evenings when everything was fresh, clear and dynamic - and it all came together for this shot. A simple composition with both receding and incoming tidal movement, diagonals, triangles and a modest colour palette of pale gold and chalky blue.

Awesome light, beautiful complimentary hues and tones, stunning three-dimensional cloudscapes, frothy incoming waves over shingle… Thank you, Mother Nature - sometimes she obliges in the most forthcoming manner and when you are there to see it and capture it, it’s a privilege beyond words.
