The Spit
A gorgeous serene dawn provides the light and mood of this shot.

An uncannily calm, almost wave-less, receding tide was curving smoothly around The Spit and the occasional pink cirrus clouds were reflected perfectly in the water’s surface. Pebbles and breakwater rock provided foreground interest as well as a foundation for the shot - and Mother Nature delivered the exotic colour palette.
I particularly like the way The Spit appears to be moving left to right through the water, parting the clouds in the sky and the estuary reflections in front of it.
I acquired this one on the same day as the minimalist “Simplicity Rocks!” image so it just goes to show what can be achieved in the way of variety of material if you spend time exploring a location and working the scene as the light and conditions evolve.
